Summer Activities

The “summer slide” – learning loss that occurs over the summer months – is a potential danger for kids of all ages, backgrounds, and income levels. Children who are not actively engaged in regular learning experiences when school is out of session can lose up to 2 months or more of the progress made during the school year. Over time, this can lead to children falling three or more years behind their peers! Don’t let the summer slide happen to your family. Reading for 20 minutes every day over the summer is a great start. Find out what else you can do here.
